Hey Fortune 500 CEO, what’s on your mind?
Fortune 500 CEOs anticipate substantial change over the next five years, idolize the leadership abilities of former President Ronald Reagan and pay scant attention to startups as a serious threat to their companies.
How do we know? Fortune magazine told us so after conducting its annual survey.
It is interesting to note that all of the CEOs bring a personal touch to correspondence, with 80 percent saying they directly respond to all “or most” of their email.
Their top three challenges are the rapid pace of technological innovation, 72 percent; cybersecurity, 66 percent; and increased regulation, 61 percent.
Most, 57 percent, consider another Fortune 500 company as their most dangerous competitor, while just 2 percent of CEOs consider startups as threats.
While most fawned over Reagan’s leadership skills, Winston Churchill and Warren Buffet tied for second. Tim Cook of Apple Inc. and Jamie Dimon of JPMorgan Chase & Co. were in a dead heat for most respected CEO.
