Hiccup with new debit cards delays some state unemployment funds

Some out-of-work Iowans aren't getting their unemployment insurance benefits this week because the state could not get new debit cards to them, Iowa Workforce Development announced Thursday.

Des Moines Register: Some out-of-work Iowans aren’t getting their unemployment insurance benefits this week because the state could not get new debit cards to them, Iowa Workforce Development announced Thursday. While the agency said in a news release that it had corrected the problem, it added that unemployment claimants will need to take steps by Sunday to complete the process. If they don’t, it said, they may face an additional delay.
