The Polk County Board of Supervisors today elected Tom Hockensmith as chairman, and newly elected Matt McCoy as vice chairman. McCoy ousted longtime Supervisor John Mauro in the November election. Angela Connolly, who was chairwoman of the board last year, praised Mauro’s commitment to human services. McCoy previously was a six-term state senator and a two-term state representative.
