The Historic East Village will present its 19th annual Holiday Promenade this year with the 12 Days of Promenade, offering traditional activities scheduled over six weeks. According to a news release from the Greater Des Moines Partnership, the 12 Days of Promenade will begin in mid-November and continue into late December. Events and activities will occur on six Sundays and six Wednesdays during that time. Activities on Sundays will include horse-drawn carriage rides, a wreath walk, scavenger hunt and Santa’s elves and reindeer games. The Des Moines Arts Festival and Wooly’s have partnered to host artists and makers during the event. Businesses will also have special deals and offer extended hours on Wednesdays. Additional signage will be created to remind visitors to wear masks and stay socially distant. Businesses will be managing their guest capacity to help keep people safe, and activities will be outdoors and managed with safety being a top priority.
