Home builders encouraged by turnout at annual expo
Turnout for the HomeShowExpo last month at Otter Creek in Ankeny may provide a promising glimpse of interest in the purchase of new houses. More than 12,000 people toured houses, the highest attendance since the housing crisis struck in 2007, according to the Home Builders Association of Greater Des Moines. “It inspires a positive outlook for our community and our industry,” said Matt Thompson, who chaired the event. The event featured houses from Bella Homes, Clarity Construction, Classic Builders, Drake Cos., Grand Home & Renovations, Jerry’s Homes, Kimberley Development, Meadowbrook Builders, Neighborhood Builders and Timber Ridge Homes.
