Greater Des Moines home sales dropped in November from October but remained above levels for the same time last year. The Des Moines Area Association of Realtors said today that 1,039 homes sold last month, compared with 1,120 in October and 857 in November 2015. Pending sales dropped to 825 in November from 1,084 October. The median price of a home sold last month was $180,000, compared with $178,000 in October and $181,500 a year ago. The number of homes for sale last month was 3,235, down from 3,405 in October and 3,620 in November 2015. Houses that sold last month had been on the market for an average of 68 days. The pace of sales was comparable to month-ago and year-ago numbers.
