Hospitals recognized for patient safety
A hospital doesn’t have to be large to be recognized for outstanding patient safety. Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City is this year’s recipient of the Iowa Healthcare Collaborative’s Patient Safety Grand Prize Award, the collaborative announced. The Patient Safety Award aims to raise the standard of health care in Iowa by promoting a culture of continuous improvement in quality, safety and value. Other hospitals receiving patient safety awards included Fort Madison Community Hospital, Grinnell Regional Medical Center, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and Mary Greeley Medical Center. The award winners will be featured at the statewide Patient Safety Conference on March 12 at The Meadows Events & Conference Center in Altoona. To register for the conference, visit www.ihconline.org.
