There’s a late-session debate among state lawmakers on how much to cut taxes, and whether the corporate rates should be altered in addition to the individual rates, the Des Moines Register reported. The House and Senate held dueling hearings Thursday. A House plan calls for individual tax cuts of $1.3 billion over five years, while the Senate is looking at $2 billion in cuts to individual and corporate taxes. Both houses are controlled by the GOP, and Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds has also called for tax cuts, focusing on the individual rates.
