Hy-Vee Inc. has begun pre-construction work on its Beaverdale store.

According to the Polk County assessor, Hy-Vee has purchased six homes between 4409 and 4521 Euclid Ave. ranging in price from $110,000 to $190,000 during March and April.

Chris Friesleben, a spokesman for Hy-Vee, said the company had options on those homes since the project began, and it exercised those options. The store plans have not changed.
