HyperStream to hold annual Olympics

125 wordsAll Latest News, Innovation and EntrepreneurshipThe Technology Association of Iowa and Iowa State University will stage the annual high school Hyperstream/IT Olympics Friday and Saturday at Hilton Coliseum in Ames. Nearly 1,000 Iowa students, teachers, club advisers, tech mentors and volunteers from 60 schools and learning agencies will attend. Students will compete in one of four project areas: robotics, cyber defense, app development or multimedia. Approximately 125 volunteers and judges will help with logistics.

If you need a warm-up for HyperStream, check out techJAM 2015 on Thursday. The free event will offer more than 30 presentations on information technology subjects from security, storage, hybrid data centers and cloud management to migration, desktop virtualization, project management, VoIP and systems monitoring. The event runs 9 a.m to 4 p.m. at Hy-Vee Hall.
