Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said he spoke with Major League Baseball Deputy Commissioner Dan Halem on Friday and was reassured that the Iowa Cubs, the Quad Cities River Bandits and the Cedar Rapids Kernels were safe from being cut from the Minor League Baseball roster.

NBC News: Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said he spoke with Major League Baseball Deputy Commissioner Dan Halem on Friday and was reassured that the Iowa Cubs, the Quad Cities River Bandits and the Cedar Rapids Kernels were safe from being cut from the Minor League Baseball roster. But Halem gave no such assurances about the Burlington Bees or the Clinton LumberKings, Grassley’s office said.
