ICON Water Trails is hosting its first ICONic Riverfest, a regional volunteer cleanup event dedicated to improving the quality, safety and enjoyment of local water trails, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 11. Volunteers will remove debris and invasive species at designated sites throughout the ICON Regional Network. The day will begin with a morning coffee hour and check-in, including welcoming remarks. Following the cleanup efforts, participants are invited to celebrate with live music and lunch at Captain Roy’s, 1900 Saylor Road in Des Moines. Cleanup locations include sites across the ICON network, including Altoona, Bondurant, Des Moines, Johnston, Norwalk, West Des Moines, Windsor Heights, Waukee, Urbandale and Polk County Conservation parks.
