IEDA eyes battery storage tax credit
The Iowa Economic Development Authority is tentatively endorsing a tax credit for battery storage of wind and solar power, Energy News Network reported. A recent IEDA report also looked at grants for research into the industry, including a “value of storage” analysis. The tax credit for battery storage could pair up with a proposed federal tax credit. The Energy Storage Tax Incentive and Deployment Act would offer a 30% investment tax credit, the same as now offered for solar systems.
