IEDA opens applications for block grants
The Iowa Economic Development Authority will open an early round of Community Development Block Grant applications covering $1.6 million in a community facilities fund. The competitive grants go to cities and counties for a variety of projects. Eligible projects include day care facilities, senior centers, vocational workshops and other community services, such as stormwater projects. The grants apply to areas where at least 51% of the residents served by the project are from low- to moderate-income families. Check here for information on how to apply beginning Nov. 1. Deadline is Jan. 17.
