Illinois farm sale nets $10,100 per acre
While Midwestern farmers have struggled against falling land prices the past several years, a high-quality farm covering 607 acres in Illinois’ Champaign County area sold for $10,100 an acre, Successful Farming reported. It was better than the auctioneer expected. Last year’s Iowa farmland survey by Iowa State University for high-quality land values in Iowa ranged from $6,055 to $10,767 depending on what part of the state it was in. The highest values are in extreme northwest Iowa.
