In celebration of Des Moines’ (former) flag
Confluence Brewing Co. and Flag of Des Moines have paired up for a Flag Day celebration from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the brewery located at 1235 Thomas Beck Road. Confluence will release a special-edition can of its Des Moines IPA that features a photo of the original flag of Des Moines that was flown from 1974 to 2008. Flag of Des Moines is a grassroots effort aimed at bringing back the original city flag, which represented the city’s bridges and rivers.
