Consumer confidence in the United States fell to a three-year low, Bloomberg reported.

The Conference Board’s confidence index fell to 63.4, from a revised 72 reading in February. The index averaged 98 during the expansion that ended in December 2007. Experts say rising fuel prices and falling home equity are undermining consumer sentiment.
