Indianola has named Ben Reeves as its new city manager. The announcement ends the search to fill the position after Ryan Waller stepped down last fall to become city manager in Marion. Reeves comes to Indianola from Santaquin City, Utah, where he has served as city manager since 2009. Santaquin is a community of more than 16,000 people about 20 miles south of Provo, Utah. Indianola Mayor Stephanie Erickson said Reeves’ experience in finance, organization management, planning and administration will be a strong asset to help Indianola move forward. According to a news release, 38 candidates applied for Indianola’s city manager position during a nationwide search. Reeves was chosen following a selection process that involved community members, city staff and the City Council, which approved an employment agreement with Reeves on Wednesday. His first day on the job in Indianola will be May 23.
