Invenergy finishes MidAmerican Energy battery storage project
Chicago-based Invenergy has finished construction and started commercial operations of a battery storage system developed for MidAmerican Energy near Knoxville. The system can provide four megawatt-hours of storage, supplying enough electricity to power 900 average Iowa homes for up to four hours. This was the first project in which Invenergy handled engineering, procurement and construction. The company has developed four other large battery storage systems.
