Iowa Women Lead Change once again is gearing up to host its annual Invest in She event, scheduled to take place on June 11.

During the event, a select group of Iowa female entrepreneurs will each give a live pitch about her respective business and its needs to a panel of local investors. This year’s investors have committed to invest up to $40,000 in these women and their businesses.

This year’s panel of investors includes:

• Lynn Allendorf, director, John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center.

• Dennis Henderson, HHH Ventures.

• Lura McBride, chief operating officer, Van Meter Inc.

• Jaymie and Lindsay McGrath, “The Sisters of Savings” with the McGrath Family Cos.

• Heidi Parkhurst, vice president of wealth management and senior resident director, Merrill Lynch.

• Ravi Patel, principal and president, Hawkeye Hotels.

Members of the public can also purchase tickets to the event as investors will share what it takes to start a successful business in today’s economy.

IWLC also is seeking female entrepreneurs to participate in Invest in She. IWLC’s partners, including Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, Ascent Iowa, the Small Business Development Center and Kirkwood Community College, will identify, screen and prepare the female entrepreneurs who will participate in Invest in She.

All tickets to the event are general admission and can be purchased online. Tickets are $35 per person. The event will be held at the Kirkwood Hotel and Convention Center in Cedar Rapids.
