Invision Architecture has merged with RDB Design Associates, an architecture and interior design firm in Jacksonville, Fla., the company announced in a news release.

The move will give Invision its first office outside of Iowa and is a major step in its expansion strategy, the company said.

Invision, with offices in Des Moines and Waterloo, has grown by over 20% in the past two years.

“After discussions with partner firms in the region, we felt a Florida expansion would help us continue meeting our strategic goals and better serve our clients,” Eric Ritland, an Invision partner, said in a prepared statement. “The city of Jacksonville provides an ideal location to enter this geographic region and anchor us in the area.”

The merger improves the ability of Invision and RDB to serve clients in the areas of education, health care, government, corporate, and hospitality, according to the news release.

RDB Design Associates will operate as RDB Invision, retaining its local reputation while gaining access to Invision’s national resources, the news release said.
