Iowa Able Foundation board approves new loan options, loan forgiveness programs
The Iowa Able Foundation’s board of directors approved four new and expanded loan programs aimed at Iowans with disabilities that will be piloted in Polk, Black Hawk and Story counties, the foundation announced Sunday. The initiatives will expand loan options; adopt an inverted risk sliding scale interest rate and forgivable loan option for assistive technology; connect the loan program to a financial empowerment program; and open a credit builder loan to all Iowans. The Iowa Able Foundation is seeking community input and support during the planning and implementation phases of launching the pilot programs in January 2020. The organization will also focus attention on recruiting pilot program participants in the next couple of months.
