Des Moines Register: Reversing a previous decision to not seek millions more in federal aid for Iowans struggling to pay rent during the pandemic, the head of the Iowa Finance Authority decided this month to apply for the second round of emergency assistance Congress approved this spring as part of the American Rescue Plan Act. The $120 million will be used to help Iowans pay overdue rent, missed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The move comes as Iowa Legal Aid has seen an unprecedented number of Iowans seeking help to stop evictions.
