Personal financial services website WalletHub has come up with a survey where it is good to be below average, and Iowa is way below average. WalletHub tallied the average cost of electricity, natural gas, motor fuel and home heating oil and determined the average monthly utility cost for Iowa residents is $270. The state ranked 33rd in the price of electricity, 30th in in electricity consumption per customer, 36th in the price of natural gas, 28th in the price of motor fuel and 27th in motor fuel consumption per customer.
