The Iowa Bicycle Coalition will release the results of its statewide Economic and Health Impacts of Cycling and Trails Study during its Bike Banquet on Jan. 25 at the Iowa Events Center. The study will show how cycling and trails have contributed to Iowa’s economy since 2012. A previous study at that time showed the economic impact of cycling around $364 million statewide. The study features five communities, including the city of Jefferson and Greene County, Mason City, Marshalltown, Wabash Trace Nature Trail communities and Decorah. Olympic cyclist Nelson Vails, the first African American to win an Olympic medal in the sport, will be the keynote speaker at the banquet. Tickets to the event are available here.
