Iowa caucuses exhibit wins national history award
The State Historical Museum of Iowa’s exhibit this year on the Iowa caucuses has earned a prestigious award from a national history association. The “First in the Nation: Shaping Presidential Politics Since 1972” exhibit won a Leadership in History Award from the American Association for State and Local History last week. It was one of 63 honors awarded nationally and it’s the second year in a row the museum has received the association’s highest honor. Last year the museum was honored for its exhibit about RAGBRAI, the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa.
