Iowa Communications Alliance adds tech scholarship at DMACC

101 wordsAll Latest News, Education, Innovation and EntrepreneurshipThe Iowa Communications Alliance has added a Next-Gen Technology Scholarship program at Des Moines Area Community College to develop expert workers in the telecommunications technology field. The scholarship covers three-fourths of the tuition for technical training at DMACC and offers part-time work at a local company. Successful completion of the 20-month DMACC program qualifies graduates for consideration for a full-time position at the sponsoring company. The first recipient of this new $9,000 scholarship is 18-year old Jarod Lee of Preston. Lee is enrolled full time in the network technology telecom/data communications associate degree program and has interned at Preston Telephone Co.
