Silicon Prairie News will recognize 12 technology-related start-up companies and individuals with its Silicon Prairie Awards. Of the 48 finalists, 12 are from Iowa, including Des Moines-based Dwolla Inc., which is in the running for Startup of the Year. Public voting is open through Aug. 22.
