Construction companies added 500 workers in December and construction employment increased by 4,700 from a year ago, an industry group said. Nationally, construction firms added jobs in 40 states and the District of Columbia between December 2013 and December 2014, while construction employment increased in 38 states and Washington, D.C., between November and December, the Associated General Contractors of America said.
