Iowa Department of Education announces $1.7M in grants for high schoolers pursuing industry credentials

The Iowa Department of Education announced $1.7 million in Credentials to Careers grants to support high school students earning industry-recognized credentials. The funds can be used by school districts to cover the costs of career and technical education programs like exam fees, equipment and instructor training. According to a press release, the funds are intended to empower students to earn stackable credentials in sectors such as health care and IT. The grant application deadline is Feb. 16.
