Iowa Workforce Development will receive more than $3 million from the U.S. Department of Labor to provide re-employment and training services to approximately 650 John Deere workers who have been laid off in Ankeny and Waterloo. The national emergency grant will complement money provided to 461 workers at the John Deere plant in Waterloo, who already have been certified as eligible for federal trade adjustment assistance, according to a Labor Department news release. The first payment in the grant is $518,643.
