The petition for judicial review, filed Dec. 16, is the next step for the Iowa Grocery Industry Association after the Iowa Department of Natural Resources declined to respond to an administrative petition the association filed in September. The grocery association accuses the DNR of enforcing Iowa’s bottle bill against its members while ignoring other retailers, including Menards, Home Depot, Dollar General, Family Dollar and Dollar Tree stores around the state, that sell canned and bottled beverages.
