Iowa high school students in grades nine to 12 can now register for the 40th year of the Business Horizons summer program. Taking place July 16-20 at Drake University, the program offers hands-on entrepreneurial experiences, team-oriented challenges and real-world exploration. Participants work in teams to identify and solve a real-world problem, create a product or service for a new business venture, and present their ideas to live judging panels. The program also includes leadership development activities, local business tours and socializing with peers from across the state. The cost of the program is $400, with a $50 discount for students who register by May 29. Need-based financial assistance is available, and applications will be accepted through July 7 or until the program is filled. “Business Horizons is a valuable and empowering program for students with any career interest in mind,” said Jessi McQuerrey, director of programs.
