Iowa housing agencies receive $5 million
Sen. Tom Harkin today announced that 48 Iowa public housing agencies will receive a total of $5,049,415 from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Capital Fund Program. The program provides for the financing, development and improvement of public housing in communities across the country. The Des Moines Municipal Housing Agency will receive more than $1 million of those funds. Harkin is a senior member of the appropriations subcommittee that funds HUD.
