The Iowa Leading Indicators Index increased to 107.0 in September from 106.9 in August. The scale is based on a score of 100 in 1999. September marked the third month in the past four that the index hit 107. With half of the eight components contributing positively, the monthly diffusion index was 50.0 in September, the third score of 50 in the past four months. Only three of the eight indicators (diesel fuel consumption, Iowa stock market index and residential building permits) experienced an increase of greater than 0.05% over the last six months.
