Iowa new business filings up 8% in May
For a second consecutive month, new business filings in Iowa reached a new monthly high last month. The Iowa secretary of state’s Business Services Division processed 2,512 new business ventures in May, up 8% from 2,326 filings in April. “This is a very positive economic indicator for Iowa,” Secretary of State Paul Pate said. “It shows entrepreneurs have income available and they are investing it in business ventures.” Iowa is also on pace to set a record for new business filings in a year for the fourth consecutive fiscal year, Pate said.
