Iowa Power Fund report released

Iowa Power Fund investments are generating an average of $22.7 million in additional annual economic activity in the state, according to a new study by the Iowa Office of Energy Independence. The economic impact study estimated the return on 31 projects in which the Power Fund has invested $38.3 million in state funds from its inception in July 2007 through September 2010. Increased employment from those projects, annually averaging more than 200 jobs, will peak at more than 430 workers next year, with an average annual payroll of $7.8 million, the study estimated. The 31 projects are also generating new construction activity of nearly $85 million annually, peaking at an estimated $285.2 million in 2012, according to the report.
