Seven Iowa restaurants were among the winners of the 2023 Restaurant Awards, which honor the world’s best restaurants for wine. The Iowa locations include 801 Chophouse in Des Moines, Martini’s Grille in Burlington, Maxwell’s Beach Cafe in Arnolds Park, Montage in Cedar Falls, Proudfoot & Bird in Des Moines, Rubaiyat in Decorah and Splash Seafood Bar & Grill in Des Moines. They were assigned on three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award. 801 Chophouse received the Best of Award of Excellence, and the other six received the Award of Excellence. The Iowa restaurants were among 3,505 dining destinations located across all 50 states and more than 70 countries internationally that received awards. Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards represent the world’s only program focused exclusively on restaurant wine service.
