Google will offer Iowa businesses free website hosting for one year and provide other online services as a part of a partnership with the Iowa secretary of state’s office. The program was announced today at the Iowa State Fair. After filing business organization documents with the secretary of state’s office, new businesses can take advantage of Google’s Let’s Put Our Cities on the Map program. Existing businesses can use the resources to enhance their digital footprint. The program helps businesses get found on Google Search and Maps, secure domain names, and build websites, with free web hosting for one year. Other services also are provided. The secretary of state’s office is now listed as an official partner of Google’s program. Businesses can find a link to small-business resources on the secretary of state’s website or here. During the fair, representatives from America’s Small Business Development Centers will be on hand at the secretary of state’s booth in the Varied Industries Building to help business owners learn how to use the online resources.
