Iowa State University and the ISU Research Park have announced a study to explore transforming land around the Iowa State Center and Jack Trice Stadium into a multiuse community district. Phase I of the feasibility study, led by Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard and ISU Research Park President Rick Sanders, will cost $125,000 to partner with Cushman & Wakefield and should take about three months to complete; a second phase of the study would cost about $175,000. The development concept, unveiled today, includes relocating commuter and game-day parking east of University Boulevard, creating a pedestrian bridge over University leading to Jack Trice Stadium, and exploring what development would look like near Hilton Coliseum by adding a hotel, office space, retail and potential condominiums. A fly-through presentation of the development proposal is available online.
