Iowa trucking companies step up to aid Midwest flood recovery
As parts of Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas are dealing with massive flooding, Iowa’s trucking industry has stepped up and offered valuable assistance. According to information collected by the Iowa Motor Truck Association, more than 100 trucks have been dispatched to the flood-ravaged areas in the last two weeks, and requests continue to come in. Providing their own equipment, time, fuel and personnel, Iowa trucking companies have been hauling hay, grain for animals, water, barricades, heavy-duty equipment and a variety of other important supplies as communities of all sizes focus on recovery efforts, the organization noted. “Iowa trucking companies have always been ready and willing to help in times of need,” said Brenda Neville, president of the Iowa Motor Truck Association.
