Iowa Workers Compensation rates to decrease 3% in 2020
Iowa Insurance Commissioner Doug Ommen announced today he has approved the workers’ compensation rate filing that was filed on Aug. 30 by the National Council on Compensation Insurance with an overall decrease of 3%. The rates will be effective Jan. 1. This is the fourth consecutive year that the NCCI has recommended a workers’ comp rate decrease for Iowa. In an independent review, Ommen found the 2020 rate “not to be excessive, inadequate or unfairly discriminatory,” according to the administrative order.
