University of Iowa and Iowa Startup Accelerator graduates Matthew Rooda and Abraham Espinoza, co-founders of SwineTech, recently made Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list, the Corridor Business Journal reported. So did Delaware County farmer Brad McDonald’s online platform for group ag purchases, marketed under his Chicago-based company Agroy. “Instead of just having farmers negotiate with other farmers in their area, now we’re trying to broaden that out to negotiate on behalf of all farmers in the state and across the U.S.,” McDonald said. SwineTech focuses on development technologies to help prevent piglets from being crushed by sows. The company projects sales of $1.3 million in 2018. Forbes 30 Under 30 lists the “brightest young entrepreneurs, innovators and game changers” in a variety of categories.
