Iowans urged to plan their vacation days for 2022
Take some time today to plan your vacation days for the year. That’s the message from the Iowa Tourism Office as it marks National Plan for Vacation Day today, the annual call for people to make use of their paid time off and plan getaways. National Plan for Vacation Day encourages people to plan their vacation days for the entire year at the start of each year. According to the U.S. Travel Association, 68% of American workers feel at least moderately burned out with 64% saying they feel that they desperately need a vacation. “We know not everyone is comfortable with traveling right now,” said Amy Zeigler, Iowa Tourism Office manager. “But by committing to planning on Jan. 25, people can enjoy the many benefits of taking a break while giving themselves something to look forward to.” According to a news release, tourism in Iowa is rebounding, approaching pre-pandemic levels with more than 40.5 million adults visiting the state in 2021. Officials say the trend is expected to continue in 2022.
