Iowa Workforce Development announced it has opened an IowaWORKS office in Ames, co-located with the Iowa Department of Transportation office at 903 Lincoln Way. “With workforce attraction a focus of Story County, having an IowaWORKS office locally will help the county step up its recruitment efforts,” said Brenda Dryer, director of workforce solutions with the Ames Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Commission. Having an office in Ames makes it more convenient for job seekers to receive assistance and to get connected to jobs, she said. It also provides additional opportunities for Story County employers to get connected with job seekers. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled Wednesday, Feb. 27, at noon, with an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
