ISU Startup Factory names new director

Peter Hong has been named the new director of the Iowa State University Startup Factory program. According to a news release from the ISU Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship, Hong will begin his new duties on Feb. 1. He succeeds Bill Adamdowski, the Startup Factory’s inaugural president who resigned in February 2020, and Kris Johansen, who served as interim director. According to the release, Hong will lead the Startup Factory and facilitate other ISU-based venture programming initiatives. He also will work with BioConnect Iowa to manage, develop and run the new Iowa Go-To-Market (G2M) Accelerator, which is part of a $1.29 million federally funded program. G2M is set to launch in early 2021, and will offer support and training for companies developing technology driven products and services. Hong has more than 35 years of experience in technical and business management in the private and public sectors.
