A frozen yogurt sandwich that took second place at the 2016 National Dairy Council New Product competition. “Beyond the Bar” — vanilla matcha green tea-flavored frozen Greek yogurt with a chocolate swirl, between two oat blend honey granola wafers — was developed by food science undergraduates Jesse Fitch, Natalie Haag, Emily Simonson and Amanda Speltz; culinary food science students Maria Dickson and Taylor Boyle; chemical engineering student Colby Abrams; and concurrent food science senior and first-year business graduate student Zenia Adiwijaya. The first-, second- and third-place teams will split $16,000 in prize money.
