ISU swine expert named fellow

An Iowa State University animal geneticist has been named a fellow by the National Academy of Inventors. Max Rothschild is the C.F. Curtiss Distinguished Professor in Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Ensminger Endowed Chair of International Agriculture. Rothschild discovered genes used to identify animals that produce more offspring and better meat and don’t need as much feed. Rothschild has been awarded 12 U.S. and several international patents, and his work has improved the industry for 20 years.
