A new master’s degree at Iowa State University will enable registered dietitians to earn their graduate degrees ahead of a national deadline to receive that credential. The new Master of Professional Practice in Dietetics degree program will accept applications beginning May 1 for the first class of up to 30 students in the fall. By Jan. 1, 2024, all dietitians will be required to hold a master’s degree to practice. The online course, approved by the Iowa Board of Regents in December, is a non-thesis program for those who have successfully completed ISU’s Dietetic Internship Program.
