The We Will Collective, a nonprofit working to enhance Iowa State University student athletes’ name-image-likeness opportunities, announced that Brent Blum has been named executive director. Blum starts in the role Aug. 1. For the last five years, Blum has been the director of development for the Ivy College of Business and Iowa State Foundation. He also worked with the Cyclone radio and TV networks for more than 10 years. “Those who work and participate in college athletics are in the beginning stages of determining the landscape and best practices of engaging in NIL, and the We Will Collective aims to help enhance the experience of Iowa State student-athletes in a way that is true to the character and culture of Cyclone athletics and keeps Iowa State competitive with schools across the country,” Blum said. The collective was established in April with the mission of helping Iowa State student athletes use their name, image and likeness to give back to charities and others in need. The nonprofit has partnered with local organizations like YSS and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Blum said he plans to engage with companies and nonprofits across the state.
